Not Writer's Block; Writer's Cramp!

I just spent the day reading about "freelance income" in a book written by a very clever guy. He was so clever, in fact, that I got lost in his shameless self-promotions, and can tell you very little about the content. It got me to thinking, and that certainly must count for something.

I've been writing for decades, but my interest ebbs and flows in the direction of genuine events, authentic emotions, heart melting, and outrageous prose. I prefer to write nonfiction. The stuff about "reality" that is portrayed on the television does not interest me. Actually, it scares me to think that the youth are given role models that make up their own language, curse, physically fight, and receive millions to do so.

The role models may have some college education, but they are not rewarded for their ability to think, to problem solve, or to create or invent. Contrarily, they are paid great sums of cash to act like ignorant fools. Actually, maybe they are not acting. Whatever, these are the role models for youth.

The great news is, not all the adolescents are tuning in, despite the media coverage. Some of the younger generation have actually figured out that there is a world of productivity out there. Some are investigating the ideas that thoughts create reality. Others are pondering the invisible nature of subatomic particles, which are not particles at all, but rather are potentials. 

Some very intelligent students are playing with microscopes and telescopes as the lesser intelligent are watching east coast crap.

I am happy to learn that the entire society is not vacuous.

In the meanwhile, getting paid to write is how I make a living. No matter how fearful I may be about the future of this country, given the current set of severely narcissistic role modeling gives me fodder, if only when I vent about the apparently cultivated stupidity of a nation.
